Introducing the Dim Sum Rocking chair by Simon Pengelly. A number of studies have found the act of rocking releases endorphins in the body that produce a calming and relaxing effect. The relaxation provided by the rhythm of rocking also improves the ability to focus and concentrate. Aside from these benefits, there are few other products that evoke such a domestic feel. The inclusion of wood in the design of Dim Sum, which refers to the traditional notion of a rocking chair, helps to domesticise the feel of this piece.

Simon Pengelly was born in Henley-on-Thames, England. Originally trained at the bench, he was an award winning cabinetmaker before graduating from Kingston University in 1988. Pengelly started manufacturing furniture in the workshop of his father at the tender age of eight. He has since developed into a celebrated furniture designer.

Dim Sum is offered upholstered in your choice of a variety of fabrics or leathers. It can also be upholstered with two different textiles (please call for details). Dim Sum is also available with contrast stitching (always in a beige color). The wood rockers are available in black carbon lacquered oak or matte lacquered walnut.
